Documentation Review — 2026-02-16
Purpose: Summary of the full documentation review: master doc updates, link fixes, duplicate pruning, and consistency improvements.
1. Master Documents Updated

2. Inconsistencies Fixed
- Broken "See" links in docs/README.md: Network Infrastructure, CCIP, and Troubleshooting sections now link to their correct READMEs (05-network, 07-ccip, 09-troubleshooting).
- Missing file reference: MASTER_INDEX and other docs referenced
00-meta/DOCUMENTATION_FIXES_COMPLETE.md, which does not exist. References updated to point to DOCUMENTATION_FIX_TASK_LIST.md, which contains the task list and completed-fix notes.

- 00-meta: Multiple "next steps" and "remaining" docs (NEXT_STEPS_MASTER, NEXT_STEPS_FOR_YOU, NEXT_STEPS_OPERATOR, REMAINING_WORK_DETAILED_STEPS, REMAINING_TASKS_AND_API_FEATURES, etc.) are intentionally separate: different audiences (operator vs. "for you") and different granularity (step-by-step vs. consolidated). No consolidation or deletion was done in this review.
- 06-besu: Several completion/status docs (e.g. ALL_NEXT_STEPS_COMPLETE_SUMMARY, FINAL_COMPLETION_STATUS) — left in place; can be reviewed in a future 06-besu–specific cleanup.

- INTEGRATIONS_QUICK_REFERENCE.md — exists at repo root.
- PROJECT_STRUCTURE.md — exists at repo root.

5. Recommendations for Future Reviews
- 00-meta size: 65 files in 00-meta; consider a later pass to archive more one-off status/review docs (e.g. COMPREHENSIVE_PROJECT_REVIEW, JNA_WHY_NOT_WORKING_REVIEW) into
archive/00-meta-pruned/or a dated archive folder. - Single "next steps" entry point: For new contributors, consider a single NEXT_STEPS_INDEX.md in 00-meta that links to NEXT_STEPS_FOR_YOU, NEXT_STEPS_OPERATOR, REMAINING_WORK_DETAILED_STEPS, and REMAINING_TASKS_AND_API_FEATURES with one-line descriptions.
- ARCHIVE_CANDIDATES.md: Add a note that DOCUMENTATION_FIXES_COMPLETE.md is not present; completed fixes are documented in DOCUMENTATION_FIX_TASK_LIST.md.
- Quarterly link check: Run a link checker (e.g. against MASTER_INDEX and docs/README) to catch new broken references.
6. Summary
- Master docs: README and MASTER_INDEX updated with correct links and dates.
- Broken references: Fixed wrong "See" links and DOCUMENTATION_FIXES_COMPLETE → DOCUMENTATION_FIX_TASK_LIST.
- Pruned: Three Blitzkrieg dated exports (.md, .txt, .json) moved to archive/00-meta-pruned/; canonical plan remains BLITZKRIEG_SUPER_PRO_MAX_MASTER_PLAN.md.
- No structural change to 00-meta "next steps" family; optional consolidation left for a future pass.
7. Continued Review (Content, Updates, Submodules)
A follow-up pass covered submodules and content/updates:
- DOCUMENTATION_REVIEW_CONTINUED_20260216.md — SUBMODULE_RELATIONSHIP_MAP reconciled with .gitmodules; docs/README Submodule Documentation expanded; root vs submodule content noted.
